Shared themes do not mean identical beliefs. Read each teaching in its own religious context.

3 source-linked excerpts from 3 traditions: Christianity, Islam, Jainism. These counts describe this selection, not every tradition.

Jainism

Shvetambara communities observe the eight-day Paryushan festival; Digambara communities observe the ten-day Das Lakshan festival. Both place emphasis on inward reflection and forgiveness. Micchami Dukkadam, with variant English spellings, is associated especially with the Shvetambara observance. Digambara communities also use Uttam Kshama. Neither phrase should be presented as a substitute for repairing harm.
